Prayers for Healing

Hi Everyone!

I'd like to ask you to lift Will and Natalie up in your prayers. Will was diagnosed with mild pneumonia last Tuesday and Natalie was diagnosed today with strep throat and a stomach virus! Yuck! Will missed all but one day of his last week of preschool this past week. Natalie has her last week coming up and I know for sure she is going to miss Monday. Will is already feeling a lot better with his meds and breathing treatments. Natalie got an antibiotic shot today and she's on heavy doses of tylenol, motrin and pepto.

Please pray for healing and good health for my precious kiddos. Nothing is harder than watching your kid struggle with illness...oh how I wish it was me instead of them. Pray for Erick and I also, that we can stay healthy and give these kiddos the constant care and love they need. Natalie is resting and eating a few bites of jello when I can get her to. We tried some sun chips, but those hurt her throat. Poor baby!

We covet your prayers. Thank you.

San Antonio Trip

This past Thursday-Monday we headed to San Antonio for a short family vacation. We figured we had better go ahead and take our trip now before it gets too hot and before baby #3 comes in October (and before momma gets too big carrying #3). We had a grand time staying at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa. If you have never been, check out the website. It is sooo family friendly!

The highlight of my long weekend was celebrating Mother's Day! I got some good lovin' (see picture below) and I got treated to a prenatal massage at the spa on property...I really needed that! We enjoyed a fabulous Mother's Day brunch, too!

The highlight of the trip for the kiddos were the pools on property. They have a regular pool, a kiddie pool, a spa and a lazy river complete with a sandy beach. This picture is of Will's "raisin fingers" after being in the pool for about 5 hours one day! Check out the bloodshot eyes, too!

Below is what five hours in the pool will do for the kiddos sleep! Erick and I joked that the pool was like "Ambien for the kiddos!" They were worn out...

We went to an IMAX movie at the Riverwalk Mall one day. It was about the deep sea and all it's creatures. Erick and I didn't realize the movie was 3-D...the glasses came off the kiddos during a few parts that were too "real!" It almost looked like the shark was coming into our laps!

The kiddos at the pool...they got new floaties for the trip!

Chillin' at the pool...such the drama queen!

The kids could have dug in the sand for hours, too! They had so much fun building castles, raking the sand and just covering themselves in it! What a clean-up!

We could walk right into the lazy river off the beach/sand. Will loved to ride (as long as he was sitting on top of me or Erick). Natalie went around once...cried and screamed...and refused to go again.

This picture is from our first morning there. The property is so beautiful...tons of hills, trees, and wildlife (we saw squirrels, raccoons, and were on the lookout for deer). Erick and the kids are standing by the lazy river and beach. It was pretty empty that morning, but by lunchtime, it was hard to find a spot on the beach!

Our first day there, we headed to Sea World. We had a good time and it wasn't too crowded. Natalie LOVED feeding the dolphins! Will was going to feed the dolphins too, but when he realized he was holding a dead fish in his hand, he freaked out! It was too funny!

They also had a big play area at Sea World. Both the kiddos wanted to climb to the top of this net in the play area (I abstained since I am pregnant and a little clumsy). Well, Natalie freaked out when they got to the top (right after this picture was taken)...so, down they came...Natalie crying because she was scared and Will crying because he didn't want to come down...what fun for Daddy!

Of course, we had to see the Shamu Show! The kids were in awe of these magnificent creatures. We sat in the "splash zone," but we never got wet! The kids were disappointed we didn't get drenched by Shamu.

One of the things we loved most about our resort were all the family activities they offered. For example, on Friday and Saturday nights, they would start a fire in a large fire pit near the pool and all the families could roast marshmallows and make Smores! The kiddos loved this and would have done it every night if they had offered it.

We had a great time in San Antonio! The weather was perfect and the hotel was just right for a family with young kiddos. We can't wait to return once the kids are a little older (and #3 has had a chance to arrive). What a blessing to spend time together as a family and make such wonderful memories!

Cuckoo & Scooby

We had two visitors come home with Natalie from school today...her class pets...two hermit crabs named "Cuckoo" and Scooby." Each kiddo gets to to take the crabs home for a night and tonight happens to be Nat's lucky night! She was beyond excited (and so was her brother)!

We set them up for their one-night stay in the kitchen. Nat wanted them in her room, but I can't really trust the two kiddos up there when I'm not watching them constantly (and I don't want a hermit crab wandering around the house). She will get to feed them, water them, and then she will draw a picture detailing her hermit crab babysitting experience!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new, little blog! I have been meaning to do this for a long time...I've just never had the time to get around to it. Not that I necessarily have the time now (I feel busier than ever), but I figured it was a good time to start as we are expecting our third child. My hope for this blog is to keep family and friends updated on the kiddos and our family life. I will try to post atleast once a week and add pictures when I can. Thanks for visiting and please come back!
